1. How long will it take before I will receive my Christiaan van der Klaauw customized astronomical watch?

A Christiaan van der Klaauw astronomical watch will be specially made and customized for you. This can take up to approximately 3 - 6 months before delivery. We will keep you informed during the process.

2. What is the process after paying the first 30% of the amount?

Step 1: you will be informed with an order confirmation by email. Step 2: you will be informed during the process about the estimated planning by email. Step 3: you will be informed when the watch is ready for delivery by e-mail. The final 70% payment invoice will be sent to you by email. Step 4: after you have made this final 70% payment and it is received by Christiaan van der Klaauw, your customized watch will be shipped to you or the selected retailer.

3. Does a Right of Withdrawal apply?

Under Dutch law, the so-called right of withdrawal during a period of 14 days does not apply to ‘made to order’ timepieces. As a courtesy of Christiaan van der Klaauw, we will apply a period of reflection of 14 days after the order is placed. If you would like to cancel the order in these 14 days, please contact us by emailing support@klaauw.com or call T +31 (0)35 - 212 1974 (Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 16:00 CET).

Before starting the manufacturing process (14 days after the purchase), we will email you informing you we are commencing the manufacture of your Christiaan van der Klaauw customized astronomical watch.

4. When do I pay the remaining 70%?

When your customized astronomical watch is ready for delivery, we will email you the invoice for the final 70% payment. After the final 70% payment is received by Christiaan van der Klaauw, we will ship your customized astronomical watch to you or the selected retailer.

5. What are the delivery options & charges?

Christiaan van der Klaauw will deliver the customized ‘free of charge’ to a given address within the countries we ship to. It is also possible to collect the watch at a selected Christiaan van der Klaauw retailer.

6. How can I track my shipped order?

When we dispatch your order, you will receive an email with a courier tracking code which should allow you to follow your delivery.

7. What about Value-added tax & Import duties?

For orders shipped internationally outside the EU, we will declare the pretax value of the package in Euro, and the recipient will be responsible for any duties and other charges which may be due. Please note that customs policies vary from country to country and so we recommend you to contact your local customs office for further information. 9. Is there a return policy?

We kindly refer to our General Terms and Conditions which can be found on our website. The return policy stipulates that if you order a personalized or customized product no return is possible.

10. Where can I find an Instruction Manual for my watch?

Your Christiaan van der Klaauw watch has its own Instruction Manual. It is our pleasure to give you access to the digital instruction manual for your watch. Digital, so that you will always have the proper instructions for your watch available. Any time, and anywhere in the world.

11. How do I take care of a Christiaan van der Klaauw astronomical watch?

Use the provided Instruction Manual to set your astronomical watch in a proper way (please see section 10).

Your wristwatch is fitted with an automatic movement. When you wear your watch, the movements of your wrist are automatically converted into the energy required to operate your watch. You can also wind the watch by hand. If you do not wear the watch, we advise you to place it in a watch winder. Exposing our watches to water is not recommended. Your watch may be damaged if you wear it while swimming or in the shower. Christiaan van der Klaauw Astronomical Watches are fitted with a leather strap. This strap can be replaced. Contact an official retailer of Christiaan van der Klaauw Astronomical Watches if a replacement is required.

12. Is there an International Warranty?

Your Christiaan van der Klaauw astronomical watch has a warranty of three years / thirty six (36) months from the date of purchase.

This guarantee is offered to you by The Astronomical Watch Atelier B.V. The following terms and conditions apply to this warranty (“Warranty”).

The Warranty provides coverage for defects in material and workmanship present at the time of delivery of your watch.

The Warranty is valid only if the fully completed warranty certificate bears a date and stamp from Christiaan van der Klaauw or an authorized retailer.

During the warranty period you are entitled to repair of defects without any costs. If your watch cannot be repaired in such a way that it can be used normally, your watch will be replaced by a Christiaan van der Klaauw Astronomical Watch with the same or equivalent features.

The following is not covered under the Warranty: - Normal wear and tear (e.g. scratches, discoloration/changes in the material and exfoliation). - Damage caused by abnormal and /or rough handling or carelessness or negligence, accidents (e.g. bumps, dents, broken crystal, etc.), improper use of the watch and/or not following the instructions. - Indirect damage, consequential damage resulting from the use, defects, malfunctioning or inaccuracy of the watch. - Unauthorized handling, adaptation (e.g. servicing or repairs) or changing the original state of the watch.

Any claim or action for (additional) damages against The Astronomical Watch Atelier B.V. in addition to the above warranty is expressly excluded.

The Warranty of The Astronomical Watch Atelier B.V. is separate from any warranty granted or to be granted by a retailer the seller - under its own responsibility - to the buyer and shall not affect the rights of the buyer in regard to that seller. An official Christiaan van der Klaauw International Warranty booklet will be provided with the delivery of your customized astronomical watch.

13. Will my Astronomical Watch deviate from the pictures on the website?

We have taken all reasonable care to make sure the actual timepiece is identical to the representation on the Configurator. All images in the Configurator are artist impressions and certain details may differ slightly from the delivered product.
